The Centre Charlemagne is located in the pedestrian zone at the heart of the city.
The closest bus stop is about 400 meters from the museum:
Virtually all buses stop at the Elisenbrunnen stop.

By car

You can reach the city centre in under 15 minutes from any Aachen motorway exit – regardless if you’re coming to the city using the E314, E40, A4 or A44 motorway. Please be aware that large parts of the city have been pedestrianised and cannot be accessed by car. If you’re using a sat nav, you’ll find the Centre Charlemagne is easiest to reach using this address: Parkhaus am Dom, Jesuitenstraße 10, 52062 Aachen.

Parking

Aachen operates a parking guidance system that will inform you on available parking in the city centre as soon as you are about to drive into the city.

Please note that parking is not permitted on the Katschhof square right outside Centre Charlemagne! Taxis may freely access the town hall, which is located at the marketplace (Markt).

By train

Aachen Main Station (Hbf) offers a great range of national and international connections. You can take buses 11, 14, 21, 44 and SB 63, which will take you to Elisenbrunnen stop, right outside Aachen Main Station. From Elisenbrunnen stop, it is a five minute walk to Centre Charlemagne. Walking to Centre Charlemagne straight from the main station will take about 20 minutes.

By bus

If you take a bus operated by ASEAG, Aachen’s local transport provider, you can buy a ‘Kombi-Ticket’ including your bus ticket and ticket for the museum. This is available as an adult, child or family ticket for the entire city of Aachen or the district of Aachen (StädteRegion).
